ASIA ARTISTS ASSOCIATION, Malaysia

The main objectives of Asia Artists Association include promoting academic exchanges and artistic creativity as well as fostering harmony, peace and fraternity among Asian countries. It also aims to promote development and innovation of Asian cultures and arts. It is a bridge for artists from various countries in Asia to communicate and learn from each other. It is a link for various countries and ethnic groups to enhance friendship and civilization. The Association also shoulders the responsibility to become a leading force on the mainstream platform of Asian academics and to assimilate the cultural diversity in painting styles as well as to assist in the cultural pursuits of all ethnic groups. The current chairman of the Association is Ms Katy Yu Guoqin.

At present, the Asia Artists Association has affiliates in China, China Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, India, Indonesia and Vietnam. More affiliates will be established in other Asian countries in stages.

Yu Guo Qin
AAAM Chairman

Katy Guoqin Yu, graduated from university with a law degree and was former Chairman of Qingdao Art Association. She is currently Chairman of Asia Artists Association Malaysia. Yu has lived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, since 2002. In 1990-1991, Katy studied at the School of Oil Painting of China Central Academy of Fine Art, majoring in portrait oil painting. Since 1993, she has won one silver medal at China’s national level exhibition and was three times selected for national level exhibitions. She has also won three silver medals, one bronze medal and one academic recognition at Shandong provincial level exhibitions. At Qingdao City level, she has won gold medal once and twice selected as top ten artists and one bronze medal. At International level exhibitions, she has won gold medal once and eleven times selected for entries. She has held one solo exhibition and published two collection albums. Many of her works have been collected by art galleries and more than 100 pieces of her works have been collected by art collectors.

Graduated from the University of Malaya in 2018 with a Master of Arts (Visual Arts). Committee of the Asia Artists Association, Malaysia. She was the Artist-in-Residence at the University of Malaya Art Gallery (UMAG) in 2013/14. She obtained her Higher Diploma in Visual Arts majoring in Printmaking from Central Academy of Fine Arts, Kuala Lumpur in 2002 and Diploma in Technology (Architecture) from Tunku Abdul Rahman College in 1984. She has held three solo exhibitions. With her expressive brushstrokes and pleasant colors, she communicates visually in a unique way. The creative process pursues naturalness and intuition, exploring the essence of the subject matter and developing it into an abstract artistic conception.

Teh Chin Boon
AAAM Vice Secretary General

Born in 1975, presently as lecturer, Faculty of Art and Design at New Era University College, deputy secretary of Asia Artist Association, Malaysia, Committee member of NS Art Society, always passion with art since young, keep improving and learning from time to time. Achieved awards and exhibited record local and internationally. His possesses a strong and intuitive approach to prowess and creativity. His masterful blend of realism and abstraction comes not only through his masterful use of watercolor medium on paper, but also through his innate and masterful in color and composition. With each stroke of his confident brush, he achieves a myriad of tactile sensations and moods.

Chan Lai Keen
AAAM Committee

Born in Tanjung Malim, Perak, Malaysia, he graduated from the Malaysian College of Arts in 1988. Since then, she has held 9 solo exhibitions in Malaysia and around the world, and participated in more than 30 group exhibitions. Some of Chen’s notable exhibitions include “Tease”, her first overseas solo exhibition at an art gallery in Singapore in 2012, and “Divan”, a 3-week group exhibition in Paris, France.

Kam Wui Mui
AAAM Committee

She has held 6 solo exhibitions. In 2013, he participated in the Malaysia Art Fair and was invited to participate in charity and group exhibitions. He has been invited to participate in art fairs three times abroad, and has been invited to participate in group exhibitions many times. The paintings are collected by the country and many countries. She is a member of the board of directors and members of various art groups in China and abroad. Instructor of Ink Painting at the Chinese Cultural Center in Malaysia and Vice President of the Asia Society of the World Federation of Cultures and Arts (Chongqing, China). Art Consultant of Yifan Painting and Calligraphy Institute of Daqian Dafengtang in Beijing, China, Committee of the Asia Artists Association, Malaysia Deputy Director of the Publicity Group, Member of the Malaysia Art Society, Member of the Malaysia Ink Painting Association.

Zheng Yan Hong
AAAM Committee

He graduated from Fujian Institute of Technology and Fine Arts in Xiamen in 1997 and participated in the Langkawi Art Biennale Exhibition in Malaysia in 2013. 2014 Xiamen Cross-Strait Art Exhibition, 2015 Malaysia-China Art Exhibition at the Malaysia Chinese Assembly Hall, 2017 Fujian Xiamen New Year Art Exhibition, 2018 Taiwan Flower Lotus International Art Exhibition, 2019 Malaysia-China Art Exhibition at the Malacca Museum in Malaysia. 2020 Taiwan International Art Exhibition. He is currently a director of Ching Xin Ge Art Co., Ltd. in Malaysia, and a director and independent curator. Committee of the Asia Artists Association Malaysia.

Chin Mee Moi
AAAM Committee

Chin Mee Moi graduated from University Malaya, Kuala Lumpur in 1979 with a degree in science with education, BScEd (Hons). She had been teaching Mathematics in high school for 35 years. With her keen interest in arts, she started learning Chinese Ink Painting in 1993 from Mr Lai TS. Then she joined the famous print artist Mr Loo Foo Sang when she was transferred to Selangor in 2008 Chin’s works include Chinese ink painting, batik, acrylic painting, oil painting, lacquer art and prints . Had participated in several joint exhibitions such as International Women’s Day Art Exhibition (2013), Journey In Art (2020) etc.

Lim Chi Ching

Born in Bagan Datoh, Perak, Malaysia. Graduated from Central Academy of Arts Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Committee of the Asia Artists Association, Malaysia. Member of the Malaysia Art Society. First Prize in Perak Outdoor Open Group Painting Competition. First Prize in Adult Group Ipoh Bercham Painting Competition. Excellent award in the national art competition and was awarded a three years full admission scholarship for study in Central Academy of Arts Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.
